Smart Grids, smart meters, delegated management, live works, smart planning, advanced monitoring functions…Discover three emblematic projects of our international expertise in the Americas.
Formulation of a roadmap and of the “Smart Grid” regulatory framework as well as a decentralized production for the Peruvian Minister of Energy.
The mission: establishing the regulatory framework required for the deployment of smart grids and for the integration of renewable energies in the Peruvian electricity network. Our experts have proceeded to an audit of the current situation, at an international benchmark, and have elaborated:
- a complete Smart Grids roadmap
- recommendations for the definition of the regulatory framework destined to include smart networks (smart meters, electric mobility, automation) and renewable energies (decentralized electricity production) in the Peruvian electricity network
Many benefits:
- Saving time and being a phase ahead on the global strategy of smart grids and on the future obligation to deploy smart meters
- Innovative solutions like the PLC (Power Line Communication)
- A progressive approach based on pilot projects as well as technological and economic analyses
- A transfer of know-how and a strengthening of skills of the teams of the Peruvian Minister of Energy
Smart automation of Advanced Monitoring Functions - Uruguay

The goal?

- Optimization of the automated network’s architecture
- Realization of the UTE smart grids plan
Plan to improve the security of the national electricity distribution network – Uruguay

UTE, the national Uruguayan electricity distributor, has recoursed to EDF International Networks’ teams to improve its management of risks related to the job.
Our personalized answer was articulated around diverse phases of thinking and analyzing, as well as practical recommendations around the safety of the electricity network:
- Diagnosis of the existing situation
- Identification of areas of improvement
- Development of prevention tools and application of risk controls during the activity
- Training on the UTE NF18.510 norm
- Elaboration and monitoring of the global safety improvement plan
Results: identification of areas of improvement concerning the initial safety conditions, definition of a strategic plan for the safety supplies and a training plan for the UTE teams, support for the development of pedagogical documents and training of 24 safety instructors.
